Greetings from <Summoners War: Chronicles>!

We would like to inform you of the May 18th update note.

An app update will take place in this update.

The game will be unavailable on previous versions after the app update.

Please make sure to update the app before you play.

There are two parts to this update note.

Part 2 will be revealed along with the May 18th regular maintenance.

Please read below for more details.

* This update note only applies to EU, JAPAN, and ASIA.

■ Key Updates

▶ Kontana

- New continent, Kontana, has been added.

- Kontana area quests have been added to Rahil Kingdom Story / Area Exploration / Repeat Request / Guild Request/ Lizardman Exploration HQ / Field Event.

- Kontana Area Dungeons have been added to the Guard Journal. They can be played manually.

- Sky Stones can be obtained through Kontana exploration requests in Lizardman Exploration HQ.

* Lizardman Special Meal is required for Sky Stone requests in Kontana exploration.

* Lizardman Special Meal can be purchased at the Kontana General Shop.

* It can also be crafted via [Profession] - [Cooking].

- Quests that link Rukurangma to Kontana added. Complete Rahil Kingdom Story Act 6. Ch. 1 Tefo's Whereabouts to progress to Kontana quests.
- New Kontana achievements and titles have been added.

- Kontana-style equipment and outfits have been added. Outfits can be crafted in the Closet.

- New title “Kontana” has been added.
* The new title can be obtained upon clearing Guard Journal Ch. 17.
- A Kontana-style wallpaper will be applied to the Summoner selection screen in celebration of the Kontana update.

* Effective Period

• * The Kontana wallpaper can be obtained permanently as a reward for clearing Guard Journal Ch. 17.

▶ New Boss “Tyra”
- Giant carnivorous plant boss “Tyra” will appear on the fields of Kontana.

- Tyra, who appears in field events, initially looks like a giant plant with beautiful buds, but it opens its buds and reveals its hideous appearance when prey approaches, summoning a bug-type creature called "Aru".

▶ Symbol
- “Symbols”, that can be equipped by Summoners have been added.

 · Equip a symbol to boost the Monsters’ stats.

- Symbols are unlocked and found in the [Summoner] info upon reaching Summoner Lv. 70.

- 4 types of symbols exist: Symbol of Harmony, Symbol of Transcendence, Symbol of Chaos, and Symbol of Ancientry.

 · Symbol of Harmony, Symbol of Transcendence, and Symbol of Chaos can be acquired via Alchemy. Symbol of Ancientry can be acquired via [Symbol Combination].

 · Combine 3 symbols of the same grade to acquire a Symbol of Ancientry of the same grade.

 · Currently, only [Normal - Magic] grade symbols exist. Higher-grade symbols will be released via a future update.

▶ Battlefield
- New 5vs5 Battlefield “Sky Waterfall Island” has been added.

- In “Sky Waterfall Island”, you can capture flags or defeat enemy Summoners to earn Battlefield points.

- The first team to reach the target points wins.
- Minimum points must be reached to obtain rewards.
- The reward conditions of Sky Waterfall Island are as follows.

- Battlefield title will be updated at 1 / 6 / 11 / 16 player takedown(s).
- Sky Waterfall Island title reward: 3,500 Gold + 1 Victory Seal / 3,500 Gold + 1 Victory Seal / 7,000 Gold + 1 Victory Seal / 14,000 Gold + 2 Victory Seals  
- Players participating for the first time will earn 5,000 Gold as a team reward.
- 4 Victory Seals will be provided as a consolation reward if you lose due to unfavorable matchmaking.
- “Moon Shadow Forest” and Sky Waterfall Island will open on alternate weeks.
- Signals can now be used in the Battlefield.
- An event Battlefield with special effects applied to the Moon Shadow Forest and Sky Waterfall Island will open every Saturday.

[Available Times]

- Weekly entries, rankings, and rewards are unchanged from the “Moon Shadow Forest”. 
- The special effect is the empowerment of the “Fire, Water, or Wind” attribute, which will apply to both the Summoner and Monsters.

▶ 6★ Rune Expansion and New Runes
Rune star grade has been expanded to 6★. 6★ Rune crafting/combination/succession has been added to Rune Alchemy.
- 6★ Runes can be obtained in the Path of Adventure [Hard].
- 2 new Runes have been added.

* Destroy Rune: (Set of 2) Destroys the enemy’s HP by 30% of the damage dealt.

Each hit destroys up to 4% of the enemy’s MAX HP. Destroyable HP increases with duplicate sets.

* Shield Rune: (Set of 2) Creates a Shield equal to 200% of its ATK.

Activates when the battle begins. Shield amount increases with duplicate sets. (Cooldown: 180 sec)

▶ New Monster <Nine-tailed Fox> (Fire/Water/Wind) Rate UP Summon

- Duration

- Details: Select the Rate UP Summon for the desired attribute at the [Summon Altar]

to summon Fire/Water/Wind Nine-tailed Fox with a higher chance!

* New Monster <Nine-tailed Fox> Rate UP Summon is separated into Fire/Water/Wind.

* Rate UP Summon mileage is accumulated separately and does not add up.

E.g.) 50 <Nine-tailed Fox> (Fire) Rate UP summons completed, 50 <Nine-tailed Fox> (Water) Rate UP summons completed

 → 50 summon mileage accumulated for each attribute

▶ Guard Journal
- 5★ Fire Pioneer’s Monster Story will be added to [Guard Journal] - [Monster Story].

▶ Path of Adventure
- [Hard] level has been added to Path of Adventure.

- Hard levels (1, 2) can be selected in [Path of Growth] - [Path of Adventure].

- Hard level is unlocked upon clearing the last level of the existing Path of Adventure.

- 6★ Hero / Legend Runes, Energy of Transcendence/Chaos/Harmony Pieces, and equipment/outfit crafting materials can be acquired in Hard levels.

- New Path of Adventure [Temple of Darkness] has been added.

* Only Hard levels are available in the [Temple of Darkness], which is unlocked upon clearing <Rahil Kingdom Story Act. 6 Ch. 31 Temple of Darkness>.

▶ Expedition

- Hard level 1 has been added to Expedition.

- New Special Expedition [Light Kamari] has been added.

* Only Hard level 1 is available in [Light Kamari].

- Hard level 1 is unlocked upon clearing Special Expedition Lv. 4 in normal difficulty and <Rahil Kingdom Story Act. 6 Ch. 31 Temple of Darkness>.

▶ Collection Challenge Season 3

- Duration

- Details: Collection Challenge is available in the Book menu.

 Equipment, Monster Piece, Rune, and Material challenges are available, and Mystical Scrolls, 5★ Devilmon, 5★ Legend Rune Box (Random), etc. can be obtained as a completion reward.

▶ Field Event

- Field events have been revamped following the addition of Kontana.
(Existing field events will end, and new field events will begin.)

[New Field Events]

- New field boss “Tyra” has been added, and the levels of existing field bosses have been increased.

  ·  Current: Lv. 60

  ·  New: Lv. 70

- The Mystical Scroll reward has been improved accordingly, and you can also obtain “Magic Dust”, which is used in Rune combination.

- Some of the existing field events have been integrated.

※ Items such as “Calm Mackerel” which were obtained in existing field events can also be obtained in the newly integrated events.

- A new type of field event has been added.

  ·  Giant gathering/mining event: Giant gathering/mining items will appear at the event time, from which various gathering/mining items can be obtained.

  ·  Finding Treasure event: Find the “Lock Shard” in the “Odd Treasure chest” that appears at the event time. Complete the common objective to earn the “Flame Heart”, “Dawn Frost”, and “Earth Breath” necessary for crafting Effect Stones/Spell Books.

- Improved so that the correct field event icon is displayed on the world map/field map/minimap.

- Modified the individual progress display of field events.

▶ Rainbowmon Dungeon

- Event Period

- Event details: Clear the Rainbowmon Dungeon during the event period to earn “Rainbow Feather”, “Breath of Life”, and “Essence of Magic”!

* Rainbowmon Dungeon will open when the event begins.
* The previous level must be cleared to enter level 2 and 3.

 

▶ Transmogrification

- New transmogs that can uniquely transform the Monster’s appearance or apply the unawakened state will be updated.

- Monster appearance can be changed via [Monster] - [Info] - [Transmog].

- Only awakened Monsters can be transmogrified.

- Kontana Guardian Fairy transmogs have been added, and can be obtained as an event reward for “Kontana Deployment Ceremony”.

 · 5★ Nine-tailed Fox’s transmogs can be purchased on the [Package] - [Transmogrification] tab.

- Monsters’ unawakened (Origin) appearance can be purchased using Crystals via [Monster] - [Info] - [Transmog].

■ New Outfits

▶ New Outfits
- “Purest Vow” wedding outfit has been added.
- Available for purchase via the [Package Shop] - [Outfit] category.

• - New outfit “Herbal Wisdom” has been added following the opening of Kontana.

■ New Monster

▶ 5★ Nine-tailed Fox (Fire, Water, Wind, Light, Dark)

- Nine-tailed Fox uses Phantom Light to inflict damage or apply effects.

- Bonus damage or harmful effects can be applied depending on the Phantom Light level.

- Each attribute has unique skills and traits. The keywords for each attribute are as follows.

■ New Events

▶ Fly Towards Kontana

- Event Period

- Event Details: Clear event missions to get epic rewards!

• * Fly Towards Kontana event will be available upon claiming all the rewards from the Rahil Guards Chronicles event.

▶ Kontana Deployment Ceremony

- Event Period

- Event Details: Get various rewards every day including the 3★ Fairy’s transmog, Mystical Scrolls, and more!

▶ Kontana Continent Chronicles

- Event Period

- Event Details: Clear the main quest of Kontana continent and claim event rewards!

* This event will be available after claiming all the rewards in the Rahil Guards Chronicles event.

▶ Plenty of Mystical Summons

- Event Period

- Event Details: Complete Mystical and Rate UP summons to get “Mystical Scrolls” and “Legendary Scrolls” according to the number of summons accumulated!

▶ Let’s Go Rainbowmon Hunting! 3

- Event Period

- Event Details: Exchange “Rainbow Feathers” obtained in the Rainbowmon Dungeon for rewards including “5★ Devilmon”, “Rainbowmon”, and more!

▶ Arena Surprise Wheel
- Event Period

- Event Details: Earn points by entering the Challenge/Brawl Arena and spin the wheel for various rewards including “Sky Stones”, “Arena Coins”, “Mystical Scrolls”, and more!

■ New/Improvements/Changes

▶ Battle

- Signals that will enable quick communication, have been added to the Battlefield and [Party Dungeon] - [Raid].

- 4 types of signals are available: Attack, Rally, Dismiss, and Danger.

You can use signals via the signal UI in the main menu and the minimap.

- Indicated signals will appear at the designated position on the field and the minimap.

- Battle Statistics button has been added to all dungeon result screens.

* You can check team members’ damage dealt, damage taken, recovery amount, number of beneficial/harmful effects applied.

▶ Party Dungeon

• - Newbie rewards have been removed from Rupture and Seal, and can only be collected up to 99 times per day in Raid.

- The number of Party Dungeon supports is now unlimited.

• - Party Dungeon battle support rewards and collection have been changed as follows.

 - Elite raid beginner rewards are adjusted.

▶ Raid

- Blood-starved Crawl of the Beast's Nest has been added to [Party Dungeon] - [Raid].

* The recommended level is 55, and will be unlocked upon clearing <Act. 5 Ch. 30 Entry, Echo Cliff>.

▶ Seal

- The battle support reward for “Seal: Ruined Temple” has been improved. (5★ Legend Rune → 6★ Legend Rune)

▶ Galagos Ruins

- 3 types of Trace of Research can now be reselected at a certain cost.

- Each Galagos Ruins stage will now show a Continue button (60 Crystals per attempt)

- Runes sold at the Galagos Ruins Ghost Shop will be changed to 6★.

- 6★ Legend Runes can be obtained from treasure chests in Galagos Ruins.

▶ Trial of Ascension
- [Trial of Ascension] - [Hidden Room] levels will be reduced.
- Hidden Room rewards have been improved accordingly.

▶ Challenge Arena

- You can now form your attack team or use quick battle when continuing from the Challenge Arena result screen.

- Defense team registration in [Arena] - [Challenge Arena] will now change on a seasonal basis.

* The defense team must be registered again when the season resets. Once registered, the defense team will be applied for the remainder of the season.

▶ Guard Journal

- Mission requirements of chapters 14, 15, and 16 have been changed accordingly following the addition of Kontana Adventure Records.

▶ Profession 
- The following items have been added to the crafting recipes in [Profession] - [Alchemy].
* 4★ Rainbowmon, 5★ Rainbowmon
*  Symbol of Transcendence (Normal), Symbol of Harmony (Normal), Symbol of Chaos (Normal), Symbol of Transcendence (Magic), Symbol of Harmony (Magic), Symbol of Chaos (Magic) 
- Profession crafting materials can be obtained in Kontana via gathering and mining. New items that can be crafted with materials obtained in Kontana have been added.

- New cooking dishes have been added to [Profession] - [Cooking].

- The effects of the following craftable cooking items have been changed.

- “Summoner” and “Monster” foods can now be used simultaneously.

- “Grill” and “Made Dish” categories will be combined into Grill in [Profession] - [Cooking].

- Mass-crafting in Profession has been improved.

* You can now craft up to 300 consecutively. Crafting can be paused.

▶ Equipment
- Herbal Wisdom equipment has been added.

- Blacksmithing material equipment will now be specifically indicated at the bottom.

- Equipment that can be promoted will now be indicated with “Promotion Available” on the equipment thumbnail.

- A Promote button has been added to move directly to the Promotion page.

- A Tutorial replay button has been added to the Equipment Combination page.

▶ Rune

- A View Details ON/OFF button has been added to the Rune storage.

* If the button is ON, detailed information will be shown when a Rune is selected.

- “Store All” and “Take Out All” buttons have been added to the Rune storage.

- Runes can now be locked/unlocked on the Rune crafting / combination result pop-up.

- Reselecting a selected Rune in the Rune storage while View Details is ON will now directly store or take out the selected Rune.

- Improved so that the View Details UI does not disappear when operating buttons on the Rune details page.

- Storage can now be used on the Rune Disassembly page.

- A View Details button has been added to the Rune Combination page.

▶ Exchange Center

- The price of certain items in the Exchange Center has been adjusted.

▶ Book

- Certain lists in the Book - Collection Challenge requirements will now indicate the source.

▶ Lizardman Exploration HQ

- The resend method of Lizardman Exploration HQ has been improved.

* The resend prompt has been removed, and will now show “Recent Exploration” on recently explored items.

* Selecting a recently explored item will automatically set up the last difficulty / time / Monsters used.

▶ Shop

- 5★ Legend equipment has been added to the Subjugation Token Exchange.

- Arena achievement special packages have been renewed.

▶ Guild
- “Guild Assembly Manager” has been added, who can request all guild members to assemble in the Guild Town.
* Available to the Guild Master and Veterans with a certain cooldown.

* Guild members who accept the assembly request will be instantly moved to the Guild Town.
* The camera settings in the village will now be applied to the Guild Town.

- Kontana rewards have been added to Guild - Wheel of Fortune rewards.

▶ Settings

- An option to switch the Jump and Ride buttons has been added to Menu - Settings - Controls.

- An option to remap controller buttons has been added to Menu - Settings.

▶ Chat

- An option to turn world chat off has been added to the chat settings.

- The last chat tab used will now be saved.

- Clicking on a chat message will now move you to the selected chat tab.

- Chat settings, user info, and emojis will appear as a separate pop-up to the right of the chat, and the UI has been improved.

- The cursor will be maintained even when switching chat tabs on Windows.

▶ Other

- Event source has been added to the transmog source.

- A system message will be displayed if the acquisition has ended.

- Icons have been added to the skill slot to make bonus skills recognizable on the Skills page.

- Energy of Transcendence/Chaos/Harmony Pieces will now drop regardless of the dungeon type in [Path of Growth].
