Greetings from <Summoners War: Chronicles>.
It has come to our attention that the Scorn Rune Set's effect has been applied at 15%, which is higher than the in-game description of 10%. This discrepancy was caused by an internal configuration error, and we deeply apologize for failing to identify this during the pre-release review process.
After identifying the issue, we carefully considered two key factors: respecting the value of the Runes that Summoners have acquired through time and effort, and maintaining balance across the game.
Through internal metrics and testing, we concluded that if the current Scorn Rune Set's effect were to remain unchanged—especially following the recent updates to the ACC and RES mechanics—it could disrupt the balance of key content, including PvP, similarly to what occurred with the Indomitable Rune in the past.
Given this situation, we believe it is crucial to provide a stable long-term game environment. Accordingly, the Set Effect of the Scorn Rune will be adjusted back to its intended 10% with the upcoming Jun. 26 update.
Additionally, we have implemented changes that alter combat dynamics, including raising the upper limits of ACC and RES and removing inherent RES. These adjustments aim to diversify the combat environment. To support this system and mitigate any drawbacks in base stats due to ACC and RES investment, we have introduced the Constellations system, which allows you to further enhance core stats such as ATK, DEF, and HP.
However, we recognize that we failed to fully consider the increased upgrade burden experienced by Summoners during this process of diversifying combat environments. We have continuously reviewed your feedback submitted through various channels and have been cautiously exploring ways to alleviate this burden internally.
That said, we ask for your understanding, as several reasons made it difficult to reach a swift decision.
Rune acquisition is a core growth mechanism in Chronicles, and materials like Conversion Stones and Refine Stones, which streamline this process, are considered highly impactful resources in-game.
Conversion Stones, in particular, significantly lower the difficulty of acquiring good Runes through Rune Conversion, and Refine Stones make it easier to improve the performance of acquired gear via Refining Equipment. Because of their game balance implications, we had to carefully control the value and supply of these materials.
Restoration Stones are also tied directly to Account Level, which accumulates through gameplay and purchases. As such, we needed thorough deliberation before considering any expansion to their acquisition structure.
In the past, when packages containing a large amount of Account Badges were released, some Summoners voiced concerns that it became too easy to increase Account Level, thereby diminishing their value. This feedback made us even more cautious in handling elements directly linked to account growth.
While we have made ongoing efforts to alleviate the burden of material acquisition through events such as Hot Time events, we fully acknowledge that these efforts have not been sufficient, especially in light of recent updates that increased the perceived upgrade burden.
We are also fully aware that although this change is a correction of unintended data, Summoners who have been using the Scorn Rune Set may perceive it as a downgrade due to the resulting decrease in combat efficiency.
We sincerely apologize once again for the inconvenience caused.
We have carefully prepared compensation to help ease the frustration and disappointment you've experienced. We ask for your understanding, and we will continue to review everything more thoroughly and thoughtfully to ensure an enjoyable Chronicles experience.
