▌Power Up with CM Serena (Part 2. Early Game Monster Development)
📌 Monster Development
Once you've obtained a desired team of Monsters, it's time to develop them.
Monster development is broadly categorized into Level Up, Evolve, and Awakening.
Focusing on these in the early game will help you progress rapidly.
As mentioned before, 5★ Monsters are stronger than 3/4★ Monsters in many ways and are more useful in the late game.
But 5★ Monsters require a lot of resources to develop compared to 3/4★ Monsters.
It's better to prioritize developing 3/4★ Monsters to progress through your adventure and develop 5★ Monsters when you have resources to spare.
* If you don't plan on using certain 3/4★ Monsters in the late game, you can use a Restoration Stone to reclaim the resources spent to upgrade them.
Some game modes require multiple Monsters, so it might be worth having them developed. (Restoration Stones can be obtained from in-game content or purchased as a product.)
① Monster Level Up
Monsters can be leveled up using EXP Potions.
In a Monster's default state, the MAX level is based on the star grade.
3★ Monsters - Lv. 30, 4★ Monsters - Lv. 40, 5★ Monsters - Lv. 50
Monsters of all the star grades above can be upgraded to Lv. 70 by evolving them.
Normal EXP Potion, Premium EXP Potion, and attribute Angelmon can be used as Monster level up material.
The amount of EXP per level is the same for all star grades.
To help you set a target for Monster upgrades, we found the resources required per level.
* Angelmons provide the most EXP, but the levels were checked based on Normal and Premium EXP Potions that are more commonly used.
[Req. Normal/Premium EXP Potions per Monster Level]
Level | 0-10 | 10-20 | 20-30 | 30-40 | 40-50 | 50-60 | 60-65 | 65-70 | Total Req. |
Req. Normal EXP Potion | 10 | 28 | 70 | 174 | 413 | 905 | 741 | 978 | 3319 |
Req. Premium EXP Potion | 1 | 2 | 5 | 11 | 28 | 61 | 50 | 65 | 223 |
* Please note that the required Normal and Premium EXP Potions shown are based on when they're separately used.
(E.g. 10 Normal EXP Potions are required to reach Lv. 10 from Lv. 0)
* Figures are based on the launch version and may be subject to change.
Required EXP significantly increases from Lv. 50 to 60.
Thus, we advise users to develop about three 3/4★ Monsters to Lv. 40 in the early game.
From then on, it's easier to evolve and level up 3★ Monsters that require relatively fewer resources.
Normal and Premium EXP Potions required to upgrade can be obtained in the following ways.
⭐️ [How to Obtain EXP Potions]
(1) Path of Growth - Obtain via Path of Training
Path of Training in Path of Growth consists of 15 levels.
You can clear up to Lv. 12 with an early PWR of 100k - 200k.
Up to 21 Normal and 2 Premium EXP Potions can be obtained by clearing Path of Training Lv. 12.
* You can get double the rewards if you own the Summoner Pass!
(E.g. You can get up to 42 Normal and 4 Premium EXP Potions if you own the Summoner Pass.)
You can enter Path of Training up to 18 times a day with 6 free daily entries and 12 entries with 4 Crystal recharges.
* Use 500 Crystals to purchase the Path of Growth Ticket Package via Growth/Evolution in the Shop every week to enter Path of Growth 12 additional times!
(2) Complete Repeat Requests that provide Normal EXP Potion rewards
Repeat Requests are quests that come in various levels and continents that you can complete by checking the rewards they provide.
However, it's recommended that you start farming after reaching Summoner level 52 in the Rukurangma Rahil Kingdom Story since Rukurangma repeat quests provide the most rewards.
Once you've reached Lv. 52 during Rukurangma quests, you can start clearing repeat requests to obtain Normal EXP Potions.
* Up to 45 Normal EXP Potions are obtainable from a Rukurangma repeat request.
You can also obtain Summoner EXP by completing repeat requests which will quickly increase your Summoner level!
(3) Other Methods
You can exchange unused 1/2★ Monster Pieces for Normal EXP Potions from Piece Exchange NPC Scarlet or via Main Menu - Exchange Pieces.
* However, 1/2★ Monster Pieces can also be exchanged for Breath of Life and 3★ Rainbowmon.
Make sure you decide which material you need the most before exchanging.
You can also craft Normal EXP Potions at Cooking Lv. 3, and Premium Potions at Cooking Lv. 6 in Profession, up to 30 potions a day.
* Lots of Normal/EXP Potions can be obtained by purchasing the EXP Potion Packages in Shop - Play.
② Monster Evolve
Monster Evolve is a type of development that increases the star grade and MAX level of Monsters.
All Monsters can have their MAX LV expanded to 70 through Monster Evolve.
Evolution requires Breath of Life, Gold, and Rainbowmon of the same star grade as the Monster or pieces of the same Monster.
* This is applicable to 3/4★ Monsters. 1/2★ Monsters can only be evolved with pieces of the same Monster.
However, it's much more efficient to evolve using Rainbowmon and use Monster Pieces for skill level-up or awakening.
We highly recommend using Rainbowmon to evolve Monsters.
The number of evolutions and materials required to expand the MAX LV to 70 varies depending on the star grade.
3★ Monsters require 5 evolutions to reach Lv. 70, 4★ Monsters require 4, and 5★ Monsters only require 3.
Below is the amount of Breath of Life, Gold, and Rainbowmon required to evolve 3-5★ Monsters.
[Req. Evolution Materials for 3-5★ Monsters]
Req. Evolution Materials for 3★ Monsters
Expanded LV | 30→40 | 40→50 | 50→60 | 60→65 | 65→70 | Total Req. |
Breath of Life | 20 | 40 | 60 | 200 | 250 | 570 |
3★ Rainbowmon | 4 | 8 | 12 | 16 | 20 | 60 |
Gold | 2,500 | 5,000 | 10,000 | 15,000 | 20,000 | 52,500 |
Req. Evolution Materials for 4★ Monsters
Expanded LV | 40→50 | 50→60 | 60→65 | 65→70 | Total Req. |
Breath of Life | 50 | 150 | 200 | 250 | 650 |
4★ Rainbowmon | 4 | 8 | 12 | 16 | 40 |
Gold | 12,500 | 25,000 | 50,000 | 75,000 | 162,500 |
Req. Evolution Materials for 5★ Monsters
Expanded LV | 50→60 | 60→65 | 65→70 | Total Req. |
Breath of Life | 200 | 200 | 250 | 650 |
5★ Rainbowmon | 4 | 8 | 12 | 24 |
Gold | 625,000 | 125,000 | 250,000 | 1,000,000 |
You can see that 5★ Monsters require more evolution materials than 3-4★ Monsters.
3-4★ Monsters also show a significant increase in the amount of required materials from Lv. 60 and higher.
If you're running low on materials in the early game, it's a good idea to stop at Lv. 60 and evolve further when you have enough materials.
Breath of Life and Rainbowmon can be obtained in the following ways.
*Since Gold can be obtained in various ways, we'll first cover the ways to obtain Breath of Life and Rainbowmon in this guide.
⭐️ [How to Obtain Evolution Materials]
● Breath of Life
(1) Exchange at Shops
Just like Gold, Breath of Life can be obtained in various ways. The most common way is to exchange at various Shops.
Breath of Life can be exchanged in the Piece Exchange Shop, Arena Shop, and Galagos Shop.
You can exchange various currencies obtained by playing game modes for Breath of Life in the Arena Shop and Galagos Shop.
Unused Monster Pieces can be exchanged for Breath of Life in the Piece Exchange Shop.
Please bear in mind that the exchange ratios vary for 1/2/3★ Monster Pieces and pieces can also be exchanged for Rainbowmon.
(2) Other Methods
Breath of Life can also be obtained by completing the Collection and Creature Book and repeat requests.
● Rainbowmon
(1) Path of Growth - Obtain via Path of Training
Did you know that Rainbowmon can be obtained via Path of Growth - Path of Training?
Although it's not guaranteed, you might be able to obtain Rainbowmon by grinding with the Summoner Pass!
(2) Piece Exchange
Rainbowmon can also be exchanged with unused Monster Pieces.
1-2★ Monster Pieces can be exchanged for 3★ Rainbowmon, and 3★ Monster Pieces can be exchanged for 3-4★ Rainbowmon.
The exchange ratio for the same 3★ Rainbowmon may vary depending on which Monster Pieces you exchange.
* Products containing Rainbowmon and Breath of Life can be purchased at the Shop.
③ Monster Awakening
The next method of development is Monster awakening.
Up to 15 levels of Monster awakening are available. Monsters will get a new appearance, as well as new or enhanced skills!
* 5★ Evolution is required to perform Lv. 5 Awakening.
* 5★ Monsters can gain an ultimate skill.
Monster awakening requires Essence of Magic, Attribute Essence, Gold, and Breath of Life.
* The same type/attribute of Monster Pieces are also required in higher awakening levels.
We recommend that you don't rush the awakening as the materials required for 3-5★ Monsters and different awakening levels vary significantly.
We've compiled the awakening materials required to awaken 3-5★ Monsters below!
* Please note that only material items are shown. Gold is also necessary for awakening.

Monster Pieces | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | 20 | 20 | - | 20 | 40 | 100 |
* Monster Pieces must be the same type and attribute.
3-4★ Monsters require a lot more materials from Awakening Lv. 10 and higher.
We recommend Awakening up to Lv. 10 as materials are scarce in the early game, and Breath of Life is also a required material for evolution.
Even when you have enough materials, it's best to start by awakening 3★ Monsters that use fewer materials and do not require the same Monster Pieces.
Below shows how to obtain the Essence of Magic and Attribute Essence.
⭐️ [How to Obtain Essence]
(1) Cairos - Obtain via the Essence Dungeon
The easiest method is to obtain Essence of Magic and Attribute Essence via Cairos - Essence Dungeon.
Essence Dungeons consist of 10 levels, each with distinct features and patterns.
Make sure to read the dungeon guide and take suitable Monsters with you.
Clearing Lv. 10 once will earn you up to 14 essence.
You can get double the amount if you have the Summoner Pass.
(2) Other Methods
You can also obtain 50 Chaos Essence Boxes every week via Shop - Consumables
and 5 Chaos Essence Boxes every day based on the Guild Contribution.
You can also craft up to 20 essence a day based on the Alchemy or Cooking level in Profession.
