Greetings, Summoners.

I'm CM Serena, and I will be guiding you on various Chronicles content.

Let's start off with the basics of Chronicles, the Monsters.

▌Handy guide with CM Serena Part 1: Monster Upgrade

1. Attribute

There are 5 different types of attributes in Chronicles: Fire, Water, Wind, Light, and Dark.

The same Monster can have different skills, appearances, and awakening names depending on the attribute.

Also, Monsters can deal greater damage according to their attributes.

Light and Dark attributes can deal greater damage to each other.

2. Monster Upgrade - Level Up

Let me walk you through the 5 ways of upgrading a Monster.

The first is Monster level up.

Monsters will gain stats upon leveling up.

You can upgrade your monsters using EXP Potions or Angelmons.

* A small amount of Monster EXP can be gained through dungeon clears and field hunts.

3. Monster Upgrade - Skill Enhancement

Next is enhancing Monster skills.

Skill effect is increased upon enhancing a Monster's skill.

Skill enhancement requires 10 Monster pieces of the same Monster or Devilmon, regardless of the attribute.

* Please note that Monster pieces of the same attribute are used to increase the Monster Awakening Level.

* Please note that skills enhanced during skill enhancement are randomly selected.

4. Monster Upgrade - Evolution

Evolution is another way of upgrading a Monster.

Monsters will gain increased Star Grade, PWR, and MAX LV upon evolving.

Evolution requires Monster pieces of the same Monster or Rainbowmon and Breath of Life, regardless of the attribute.

* Please note that Monster pieces of the same attribute are used to increase Monster Awakening Level.

5. Monster Upgrade - Awakening

You can also awaken a Monster.

Monster Awakening is divided into 15 levels.

You must evolve the Monster to a certain level in order to perform Awakening Lv. 5.

The appearance and Monster name will change according to the attribute upon reaching Awakening Lv. 5.

Also, certain Monsters will gain enhanced or new skills.

Depending on the level, Awakening requires Essence of Magic, same attribute essences, Breath of Life, Monster pieces of the same Monster, and Gold.

* Monster pieces of the same attribute are required for Awakening Lv. 10, 12, 14, and 15.

6. Monster Upgrade - Rune

Lastly, there are Runes.

Monsters become stronger when they have Runes equipped.

Runes are divided into Grades and Star Grades.

A Set Effect is activated upon equipping a certain number of the same Rune type.

Set Effects vary per Rune type, so it's important to equip appropriate Runes for each Monster.

Runes can be enhanced to increase stats.
